Belgian Meat Skewers for BBQ – Homemade Recipe
Meat skewers are a grilling classic worldwide, and Belgium is no exception. In spring and summer, outdoor gatherings are the perfect occasion to prepare these delights, especially when using local ingredients like Belgian Dijon mustard, craft beer, or regional sausages. Inspired by the "brochettes" served at fairs and popular festivals, this recipe combines tradition and flavor in every bite.
Ingredients (serves 4)

500 g beef (steak or ribeye), cut into cubes

2 Ardennes-style or Belgian chipolata sausages, sliced

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 red onion, chopped

Whole mushrooms

2 tbsp Belgian mustard

2 tbsp honey

100 ml Belgian blonde beer

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

In a bowl, mix mustard, honey, beer, oil, salt, and pepper.

Marinate the beef and sausages in this mixture for at least 1 hour.

Thread the ingredients onto skewers, alternating meat, vegetables, and sausage.
